He has in-depth knowledge and first-hand experience across IPOs, dual listings, takeover bids and defences, corporate and crisis communication, investor engagement and advisory work for pan-African multinationals.

He has built strong relationships with sector analysts, portfolio managers and global proxy advisers, including ISS and Glass Lewis, as well as benchmarking, index and portfolio construction advisers such as MSCI and RisCura.

He has helped organisations navigate periods of growth, transformation, scrutiny and change. His experience includes financial services, technology, consumer and FMCG sectors, including Barclays Africa and Middle East, Hewlett Packard and McDonald’s South Africa.

He spent 14 years at Murray & Roberts, where he led investor relations, media and crisis communications at executive level.

He is the founder of FinWise and managing partner of Patrimonia Partners Ltd, advising listed companies, investment funds and financial institutions on investor relations, strategic communications, market visibility and growth.

Through FinWise, he leads a pan-African media and engagement platform that includes the FinWise Exchange magazine, the FinWise Chronicle newsletter, investment summits, roundtables and financial education initiatives.

Jacques De Bie

Jacques De Bie is a strategic leader with 28 years of experience in investor relations, financial communications, stakeholder and corporate affairs and shareholder analytics in South Africa and Europe.

He has proven success in building business growth through talent development, stakeholder engagement, new business acquisition and strategic advisory research and communications. His expertise spans exchange-listed corporate reporting, crisis communications and capital markets practice.

Jacques was previously head of investor relations, register analytics and share scheme administration at Singular Systems and a non-executive director at WESSA. He is currently a technical adviser to the African Credit Ratings Association and consults and trains in collaboration with subject matter experts.
